On November 14th, StarCraft 2 will integrate a free to play version of its award-winning title. Tim Morten, Blizzard’s production director of StarCraft 2, explains that this specifically means free access to the Wings of Liberty campaign or Heart of the Swarm expansion for those who already own the initial campaign.

Additionally, players who download the F2P version will have access to cooperative mode along with Kerrigan, Raynor, and Artanis being completely free and the game’s other co-op commanders free up to level 5. Players can also join competitive multiplayer as well after achieving one’s first 10 wins of the day in Unranked or Versus AI.

Blizzard has made a strong move that will encourage a new batch of players to experience StarCraft 2, and continue to expand the reach and success of their staple esports industry title for years to come.
